Jr Eagles Football Academy Philosophy

The Jr Eagles Football Academy is a competitive feeder program for Sandra Day O'Connor High School.  

The Program sets the teams rosters according to the graduating year of the player.  The strategy is to have the players play with the team that they will be starting high school with.

Playing time for the 8th grade team, playing time is not guaranteed, as they are preparing for high school football, the program begins to operate in the same manner as the high school team, playing time is earned.  For the 4th grade through 7th grade teams, coaches work to ensure players get game time, ensuring safety first.

Practices will be August 7th through Novmember 18th and depending on team, is 2 days a week from 6:30-8:30, please get there 15 minutes early, Individual team coaches may request some additional pre-season practices, that will be up to the individual coaches.  Practices will be at O’Connor practice fields!

Here is the schedule for gear:

Week of August 7th

Helmets only, cleats and athletic wear

Week of August 14th
Shells, Helmets, shoulder pads, cleats and athletic wear

Week of August 21st
Helmets, shoulder pads, padded practice pants, cleats and athletic wear



Please be drinking lots of water and bring water to the practices!

In season practices will continue to be at O’Connor high school, depending on team, weekdays from 6:30-8:30

The official NYS game season will be starting September 9th through November 19th

NYS weekly schedules are typically posted the Tuesday before the games

Jerseys including game pants for the season are $200 per player, Jerseys usually last 2 seasons.

Jr Eagles football academy will charge $140 per player for field, light fees and academy fees.  This fee will be collected at the beginning of the season.

Football gear required:

Helmet (White helmet, Royal Blue face mask)

Shoulder pads

Practice pants

Practice jersey (we typically sell these for $30)

Mouth piece

Game girdle (7 pad girdle)

~prices for these range significantly but can be as little as $300 up to over $1000 depending on parent preferences

The Jr Eagle Football Academy gathers equipment and redistributes it to new and returning players to help reduce the burden on families.
